Doing business with Upstate Farms

MANAGING FOR GROWTH

The Bison plant on Scott Street, Buffalo has been Upstate Farms’ cultured products plant for 21 years. When purchased, it produced 14 million pounds of cultured dairy products. By maximizing efficiency and re-investing, the plant now produces in excess of 55 million pounds.

The need to update its cultured processing facilities has led Upstate Farms to the decision of building a new state-of-the-art plant, as a solution for long-term growth and industry competitiveness. The building site consists of 19 acres of land located in West Seneca (S.E. of Buffalo, NY) and is easily accessible from the NYS Thruway.

The new plant has been designed not only from an efficiency and quality standpoint, but also with security in mind. It offers 165,000 sq. feet of space with an additional 40,000 sq. feet of mezzanine. This building, at the time of opening, will be able to handle in excess of 100 million pounds, annually.

In addition to added capacity, everything in the plant has been designed for the next generation standards. Cutting-edge design, a fully-equipped R&D lab, and a streamlined production flow in the new plant will allow for flexibility to meet changing consumer needs and new product development.

Our focus for the future will remain on investing in new product development, technology, future acquisitions, plants, and equipment. Upstate Farms builds on a solid foundation - a spirit of working together through cooperation, customer faith, and consumer loyalty are all building blocks enabling us to grow and remain one of the most reputable dairy food manufacturers in the Northeastern United States.
