Situated in the Town of Cambria in Niagara County just west
of Lockport, New York, the Ohol farm was founded in 1932 by
Andrew and Estelle Ohol, The family farm originally
consisted of 160 acres and with additional land purchases
through the years, it is now over 600 acres owned, along
with several hundred rented.
Andrew and Estelle had 7 sons and 1 daughter. Tragically,
in 1943, the two eldest sons, aged 13 and 11, were killed by
an automobile, when walking home from the one-room country
school. The remaining children all continued to work on the
family farm, at least through high school.
Andrew retired in 1974 leaving the farm to sons Stanley
and Joseph, the second generation who continued the dairy
business for another 35 years, until 2009. Today the farm is
passed on to the third generation, Joseph’s sons, John,
Steve and Adam, who hope to continue the dairy farm
operation and to make it a century farm in 2032.
