Nestled
on the beautiful shores of Silver Lake, Silver Meadows Farm
is a picturesque dairy farm owned and operated by the Klein
family of Silver Springs, New York. The farm was purchased
in 1953 by John and Bernice Klein and their son Ronald and
his wife Jackie. Today it is a 4th generation dairy owned
and operated by Stan Klein and his son Russell. Stan’s wife
Michele and his daughter Colleen are also involved in the
dairy primarily in raising the baby calves.
Over the years, the farm has undergone a few changes.
Cows were originally milked in a tie-stall barn. In 1977, a
freestall barn and a double-six herringbone parlor were
completed. Today we milk approximately 200 cows and raise
all of our own dairy replacements.
Silver Meadows Farm works 600 acres of farmland growing
corn, alfalfa, wheat, and oats. In addition to our dairy
cows, we have an assortment of horses, sheep, pigs, and
poultry. In the spring, we collect sap and boil maple syrup
for sale at the farm.
We are very proud of the high quality products that we
produce at Silver Meadows Farm. We also work hard to be good
stewards of the land by preserving and protecting the
environment in which we live and farm.
