I
am a 3rd generation dairy farmer who milks 75 dairy cows and
also have 75 heifers that are not yet milking. My
great-grandfather, a Polish immigrant, started a small farm
in Colden, which my grandfather worked on until he got
married and moved to Chaffee. After farming there for five
years, he moved his family to Delevan and the farm our
family has owned for the last 52 years.
It has been on this land that three generations of
Woloszyns have made numerous modernizations striving for
optimum cow comfort. We believe that cow comfort is key to
producing high quality milk, which then our cooperative
turns into high quality and delicious dairy products that
you the consumer can enjoy. We have proudly received quality
milk awards for the past three years and strive to produce
quality milk for generations to come.
While the dairy industry is facing challenges, I have
great hope in the future of dairy farming. My brother and I
currently run our parents’ dairy farm and are preparing to
take over. My two other brothers, sister, sister-in-law,
nephews, and fiancée also help out on the farm, making our
dairy a family operation. I strongly believe it is
important, now more than ever, to support local growers and
