Drink Milk for Healthy Weight

A growing body of research has shown a connection between dairy consumption and weight maintenance. For a detailed list of studies and their findings, click here.

What does this connection mean?
All these studies have one element in common: Dairy product consumption leads to healthy weight when combined with a balanced, low-calorie diet and exercise.

Does the fat level matter?
Dairy products perform the same, when overall caloric intake is monitored. If you prefer whole milk or full-fat yogurt or cheese, by all means, feel free to enjoy it, as long as you keep in mind to cut the extra calorie intake from other menu choices.

How does it work?
Research points to a unique mix of ingredients that occur naturally in dairy products that act together to regulate fat cell metabolism. Scientist credit the muscle-building effect of protein combined with the fat burning qualities of calcium for their help in burning more fat and helping you shed inches around the waist. This is why simply taking calcium supplements will not lead to the same results.

What to Do?
To achieve the weight loss you have been trying to obtain, next to exercising and cutting calories, make sure that you consume 3 servings of low fat or fat free dairy a day. Check out our recipes to add dairy into your meals, and prioritize dairy on your food plan.

3 servings of Dairy + Exercise = Healthy Weight
